On August 14, Dingzhou Power Plant organized an environmental education activity with the theme “Embracing a Greener Future Together with Dingzhou Power Plant.” More than 30 residents of nearby villages were invited to the plant, where they enjoyed a unique “tour of green power development.”
The activity showcased the power plant’s philosophy of ecology first and green development, and demonstrated its commitment to fulfilling social, political, and economic responsibilities, exhibiting comprehensive strength, and accepting social supervision. It uncovered the mysterious veil of the power plant by shedding light on the enterprise’s concepts on environmental protection, ecological conservation, and intelligent development and providing the public an insight into its power generation, intelligent construction, and green transformation. In the exhibition hall of the plant, volunteers elaborated on the company’s investment in environmental protection during its construction and operation, as well as the actual benefits, before guiding the visitors on a tour of the turbine platform, centralized control room, and environmental protection facilities. Relevant professionals answered questions of common interest raised by the visitors such as power production and environmental protection indicators.
“I brought a mask with me this morning, but I haven’t felt the need to wear it because the air quality in this thermal power plant is not that bad as I was told before,” said a visitor. “I’m going to tell everyone what I have seen here today.” “Previously I was afraid that construction of the power plant will have an impact on the lives of us local residents, but while I’m here today, I realized that I had worried too much,” said another. “When your Phase 3 is completed, I will come back!" The activity participants all expressed that they would share what they had experienced here with their families and friends.
Over the years, the power plant has been actively practicing the development concept of “Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets.” It has taken an active part in ecological civilization construction and made continuous efforts to strengthen measures on environmental protection and industrial transformation, aiming to achieve high-quality green transformation and growth.
